Beyond the River

The cold winds of November
embrace the return of winter
when nature's hibernation
bows to the silence of solitude
moon light caresses
white blankets with pale
blue glints in the darkness
where the only noise is the
whisper of lost echos
Along the river
ice clings to shallow banks
as the flow twists beneath
branches of frost kissed trees
and the frozen needles of pines
beyond the river
reflections mirror in the
cold of calm winter waters
quiet and white
